Terrible

Submitted a simple claim for pet insurance over two months ago, the only resonse are weekly text messages stating they will contact me when the progress. emailed them contacted through there socials …

Avoid at all costs..terrible company..took over 8 weeks to sort out my claim and then they deducted a certain amount because of the age of my dog even though they were well aware of my dogs age..then…

Ageas offers two types of pet insurance cover, so you can choose which best suits yours and your pet’s needs.

  • Lifetime – Provides cover for all injuries or conditions that occur within the policy year. The cover resets at renewal, provided you remain insured with Ageas.
  • Time limited – Provides cover for injuries or conditions for 12 months, starting from the day you or your vet first noticed your pet’s condition.

Making an Ageas pet insurance claim

To make a claim, you need to call Ageas’ claims team on 0345 165 0928. Lines are open Monday to Friday 8am – 8pm and Saturday 9am – 2pm. Or, if you’d prefer, you can download a claims form online, fill it out with the help of your vet and email it to claims@pet.ageas.co.uk. A member of the claims team will contact you as soon as possible.

If you have a health question or concern about your pet, you can call Ageas’ helpline and speak to a qualified veterinary nurse on 0333 332 7928. Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Find a vet or pet minder
If you or your pet are away from home whilst in the UK, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands and your pet needs urgent veterinary care, Ageas can help you find the nearest vet. They can also help you find a registered pet minder nationally. The number to call is 0345 165 0928. Lines are open Monday to Friday 8am – 8pm and Saturday 9am – 2pm.

Bereavement counselling and pet legal
Ageas offers an understanding, professional and confidential service that enables you to talk about the death or illness of your pet for as long as you need. They also have lawyers available to provide advice and explain legal issues in a friendly and helpful way. The number to call is 0333 003 2258 and lines are open Monday to Friday 8am – 8pm and Saturday 9am – 2pm.

Your pet needs to be at least 8 weeks old to get a pet insurance policy from Ageas. There is no upper age limit, so you can continue to get cover as your pet gets older, provided your pet has been continuously covered by Ageas.

Ageas does not currently provide cover for pets with pre-existing conditions.

Yes, you can still take out a pet insurance policy if your pet is not vaccinated.

Cover starts for accidents 48 hours after your policy start date. However, you can't claim for illnesses within the first 14 days of your cover.

When you make a claim, you can choose whether you want the payment to be made to you or the vet. If you pay your policy by Direct Debit from your account, you have the option of being paid by BACS (Bankers Automated Clearing Services) direct into your bank account. Your vet can also be paid by BACS if they wish. An excess will be deducted for all claims, as stated in your policy documents.
